City of Grande Prairie residents can now apply for Police Information Checks online through the Grande Prairie Police Service, providing a convenient option that allows eligible applicants to complete the process without visiting police headquarters.
The secure online application system allows applicants to submit requests 24 hours a day, complete identity verification electronically, pay applicable fees online, and securely receive completed results electronically when no follow-up is required.
"Providing online Police Information Checks is another way the Grande Prairie Police Service is improving access to services for our community," says GPPS Superintendent Greg Redl. "Eligible applicants can complete the process from home, saving time while maintaining the security and integrity of the application process."
Applicants must apply for their own Police Information Check and cannot submit applications on behalf of another person.
The online system uses Electronic Identity Verification to confirm an applicant's identity. Individuals who are unable to complete electronic verification may be required to attend GPPS headquarters and present identification in person.
Online applications are typically processed within five to 10 business days or less. Applicants can pay through a secure online payment system that accepts major credit and debit cards.
Applicants who prefer to apply in person may continue to do so at Grande Prairie Police Service headquarters, located at 10202 99 Street, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
