The Grande Prairie Police Service has reached another milestone in the policing transition, as the first members of Recruit Class #1 have now become fully trained police officers.

Since graduating, these new officers have completed extensive field training alongside experienced GPPS members. They’ve developed strong skills in areas such as vehicle operations, tactical communication, police tactics, and investigative procedures. They have also demonstrated qualities essential to modern policing, including integrity, sound decision-making, leadership, and respect for equity and human rights.

As these members continue to grow in their careers, their colleagues are completing their training, with the expectation that their entire class will be fully trained by the end of 2025. This will pave the way for Recruit Class #2 to begin their own field training.

We are proud of the dedication and progress of our team as we build a police service focused on serving our community.
