Over the course of two days last week, the Grande Prairie Police Service proudly hosted an Alberta Centre to End Trafficking in Persons workshop. This event brought together agencies from across the region and province, creating a vital opportunity for collaboration in the fight against human trafficking.

Participants shared resources and strategies aimed at establishing clear pathways of support for individuals who have been sexually exploited in our city. Human trafficking is a serious and complex crime that demands a coordinated, community-wide response.

The workshop was well attended, and significant progress was made. Together, we are committed to strengthening partnerships and developing effective processes to support survivors and prevent further exploitation. Our work continues, united in purpose and determination.

GPPS Chief Dwayne Lakusta and Grande Prairie Police Commission Commissioner Warren Travasso are proud board members of the Alberta Centre to End Trafficking in Persons.
